Marking the entry of an international hotel brand in Western Visayas, the 15-storey contemporary hotel is the latest addition of hotels inside Megaworld’s biggest township in the region and will offer first-class accommodation to business and leisure travelers in the area.

Courtyard by Marriott, from Marriott International’s portfolio of world-class brands, is all about ‘Refreshing Business.’ The brand aims to provide guests with an environment that offers smart, energizing choices so that they can make the most of their time on the road. Catering to guests with the most discerning tastes, the hotel is equipped with 314 spacious rooms and suites. The hotel comprises 121 King Rooms, 140 Doubles, 32 Executive Rooms and 16 Suites. All rooms will have a curtain wall system that provides an amazing view of the urban landscape of Iloilo Business Park.
Aside from the simple yet elegant furnishings, guests can also enjoy the amenities that include a lounge bar, meeting rooms, swimming pool with pool bar, outdoor bar and grill, state-of-the-art gym and business center. “The Courtyard Marriott Hotel in Iloilo will also feature a restaurant which will serve high quality food that the Courtyard brand is also famous for, featuring a variety of international and local cuisines,” Gassner adds.

Recognition from Philippine Property Awards
In a press release by Megaworld, two of its Iloilo-based hotels have already received recognition as top hotel developments in the country, namely the upcoming Marriott Courtyard Hotel located within the Iloilo Business Park and Richmonde Hotel in Iloilo. The 15-storey Marriott Courtyard Hotel recently received two ‘Highly Commended’ awards for Best Hotel Development and Best Hotel Interior Design at the 2016 Philippine Property Awards. The said hotel, which will rise beside the iconic Iloilo Convention Center, will be situated within Megaworld’s 72-hectare urban township development in Mandurria district and will offer a total of 320 rooms. Meanwhile, the 149-room Richmonde Hotel Iloilo also received the ‘Highly Commended’ awards for Best Hotel Interior Design at last year’s Philippine Property Awards.

Megaworld Senior Vice President Jericho Go said the recognition the hotels have received shows how the company has given the city first-class hotels. “Having two award-winning hotels in Iloilo Business Park is a testament of how Megaworld has alleviated the standards of hotel lifestyle in Iloilo City,” Go said “This is a first-class city that deserves first-class hotels.” Megaworld said it has spent more than P2 billion for the development of the two hotels. “Iloilo City is now ready to host huge local and international conventions and events because these two award-winning hotels sandwiching the Iloilo Convention Center will be able to provide the amenities and services that visitors and guests deserve. We see Iloilo City as the rising MICE destination in the country,” Go concluded.

Megaworld is expected to complete the building of Courtyard Marriot Hotel in this middle of the year and stated that the grand opening would usher a strong support for the tourism industry, as well as influx of tourists in Iloilo City. Aside from this, the hotel is a passionate vision of Megaworld to showcase world-class services and high-end accommodation for Ilonggos and their visitors, linking with the city’s gracious culture as the country’s ‘city of love.’
